Speak Up

Better an open reprimand than concealed love. The wounds of a friend are trustworthy, but the kisses of an enemy are excessive.
Proverbs 27:5-6

From knowing what to say and when to say it, to knowing when to listen, Solomon also imparts wisdom to  "speaking up" to those that we love.  I remember that my mom would tell my sister and I that "true friends tell you what you need to hear, while a false friend will tell you what you want to hear." Then she would follow up her statement by staying "What type of friend are you to those that you spend time with?"
As often as I can I try to be that "friend" that is trustworthy. A friend that can share a word of encouragement as well as a word of accountability.  I really desire to share the right word, in the right way, at the right time, to the right person; in doing so my prayer is that my willingness to speak up would come across as trustworthy.
This coming take time to be that trustworthy friend. Remember to take the time and listen, make sure that you are not starting or sharing gossip, then speak up.

It was a great day of worship yesterday.  If you were unable to be here yesterday try and make it a priority to be in attendance this coming week!  It is a delight to be on this journey with you!  God continues to move at UABC!!
