Search Me

Psalms 139:23-24
I'm going to ask for everyone, to start praying these four sections of scripture as prayers (Psalm 139:23-24, 2 Corinthians 5:15, Jeremiah 18, Isaiah 6) and I want to warn you, these are not easy prayers.  These are not safe prayers.  I'm calling them dangerous prayers, but they're dangerous in a good way.  Now, if you were to ask my opinion, most people's prayers are way too safe.  Think about what we often pray for?  God bless us.  Keep up safe.  God help us.  Those are good prayers, but very safe.

What I want to do in this series, I want to warn you with some prayers that are not safe to pray.  In fact, when you pray these prayers, you're really asking God to do something that will often take you out of your comfort zone.  Next week, for some of you, next week will be one of those difficult messages for you process.  We're going to talk about a dangerous prayer, where we ask God to BREAK US.

That's the last thing any of us want, to willingly be broken,  but; on the other side of brokenness, you will find real intimacy with God and a dependence on Him that you cannot find any other way.

Week # 3, for some of you this will be it.  It will change the direction of your life.  We're going to pray God MOLD me.  You're inviting God to finally begin to do what He has always intended to do in and through your life.  It's surrender.  It's being still.  It's allowing Him to refine and MOLD you.

Then, in week #4 - I'm asking everyone to prayer a prayer and some of you have been scared to pray this prayer - God, SEND me.  In other words, instead of saying, "God, I'll do what I want to do for you," we're going to say, "God, I'm signing a blank contract.   Lord, whatever, whenever, however, God, I'm available to you. Whatever you want to do, my life is yours.  God SEND me."

Join with me in praying these prayers.  I'm praying for each of you as you continue in your journal for 2019!

Search me, God, and know my heart;
test me and know my concerns.
See if there is any offensive  way in me;
lead me in the everlasting way.
