Drift

I want to share something that's been on my heart. It's about our mission as a church, and I believe there's a gentle nudge we all need to hear. Friends, I can't shake the feeling that we might be drifting off course a bit. Like a boat without a rudder, you know, just going wherever the waves take it. But we're not called to drift but to sail with purpose!

Remember Psalm 67? That psalm where the writer is praying for God's blessings to reach ALL people? The point is God's goodness isn't meant to be kept to ourselves. It's intended to spill out and touch every corner of the world. So, we gotta ask ourselves: Are we shining God's light beyond these walls?

And let's not forget about Jesus' great commission! He gave us a job to make disciples of EVERY nation. That's a pretty big deal! But lately, it feels like we've gotten stuck in our comfort zones. We're good at doing church stuff here, but how about outside these walls? Are we sharing the love of Jesus with folks who've never heard about Him?

Don't get me wrong, I love our community and our fellowship. But I can't help but think a more extensive adventure awaits us. God's calling us to step out in faith, to be His hands and feet in a world that desperately needs His love.

So, here's the challenge, my friends: Let's shake off that drift and get back on track! Let's be bold in our love for others, showing them the same grace and kindness that God shows us. We've got the best news in the world - the news of Jesus Christ - and it's time to share it like there's no tomorrow!

Let's pray together, seeking God's guidance and power to reach out to those around us. Whether it's our neighbors, coworkers, or strangers we meet, let's intentionally share the hope we have in Jesus.

In a world that often urges us to follow our hearts and find meaning within ourselves, Psalm 67 reminds us of the truth in God's Word. It warns us that the heart can be deceitful (Jeremiah 17:9), calling us to examine areas of our lives where our emotions might lead us astray instead of aligning ourselves with God's unchanging truth.

The beauty of God's grace shines through in Psalm 67. Despite our shortcomings and brokenness, He blesses us abundantly. It's an awe-inspiring truth that many struggle to grasp. How often have we felt unworthy or inadequate to be used by God? But His love extends beyond our imperfections, calling us into a divine purpose beyond ourselves.

God's salvation doesn't merely rescue us from separation; it invites us into His redemptive story. We have a remarkable opportunity to be a part of what God is doing globally. Living on a mission means discovering and embracing God's unique purpose for each of us. It might require reevaluating our life goals and shifting our focus from worldly ambitions to embracing God's eternal plan.

Our culture bombards us with messages about success, wealth, and achievement as the ultimate markers of purpose. However, Psalm 67 teaches us that true meaning comes from aligning our hearts with God's heart for the world. Our calling is to be part of God's. Mission to participate in His grand plan to reach the nations with the life-transforming message of the gospel.

Embracing this purpose fills our lives with unshakable meaning. It transcends fleeting accomplishments and material possessions. It gives us a sense of fulfillment only in walking alongside God on His redemptive journey.

As we meditate on the truths of Psalm 67, let's accept God's great calling upon our lives. Let's seek ways to actively participate in His plan to redeem the world, one heart at a time. Embracing this purpose transforms us and allows us to impact the lives of others, shining the light of God's love and hope wherever we go. Together, we can make a real difference, impacting lives and bringing glory to God's name. So, let's set sail on this missional adventure and see where God takes us!
